Introduction
Welcome back to BizTips…..

As we are about to enter the final quarter of 2009, now is a good time to begin taking stock of your business year, what’s going on in the run up to 2010, and of course, your plan for moving forward next year. Have you made the necessary progress to be even more successful than you were in 2009?

Biztips is completely complimentary and I hope you find the content here both useful and informative. If you haven't already done so then please subscribe and feel free to send it to a business colleague, friend, client or even supplier, by using the link here or in the right hand margin

Tip Bitz

More useful tips for your business -
  • As of 1st October 2009, new rates will apply to the national minimum wage (NMW). NB please be aware that service charges, tips, gratuities and cover charges paid to a worker through the employer’s payroll do not count towards the NMW (this only applies in respect of pay reference periods beginning on or after 1 October 2009).
  • As of 12th October, changes to Criminal Records Bureau checks take effect.
  • From the 1 October 2009 a director's home address can be protected from disclosure. If you would like to take advantage of this new concession you need to register a service address, which could be your registered office address, with Companies House. This can be done online www.companieshouse.gov.uk from the 1 October 2009.
If you take no action your home address will be taken as your service address until changed.

Just a quick reminder that other recent changes include:

1. You must be aged 16 or over to be appointed as a director.

2. You no longer have to appoint a company secretary, although you can do so if you wish.

3. You no longer need to hold an AGM unless you opt to do so.

Thanks to HR Dept and Ledger Sparks for the use of this information.

Feature: A New Brand

It happens in business… in finding a new supplier and after a period of working together you realise that a bond has occurred between those businesses.

At Impact we just had such an occurrence with branding experts, Brandgraphica. In around six weeks we are going to be unveiling our new Impackta brand to the world which will be the launch pad for our franchise operations.

Now we are able to announce a strategic partnership with John McCarthy’s Brandgraphica team and offer you unique terms to enhance your brand when introduced through the Impact Network.

Rather than me banging on about the genius of their work why not take a look around their site – (you will learn about branding) or simply have a flick through their eBook.

As soon as I saw this I wanted one!

For a simple critique of your brand, messaging and external communication call Ciara at the Impact offices.

We will be exhibiting on stand number 50, it would great to meet you.

The Right Balance

So there’s the business… and then there’s you.

It’s a competitive market place out there and right now many of us are working harder than ever to get through the choppy waters.

However… some balance is required.

Chances are you are one of the ‘key people’ in your business and keeping yourself balanced and well is vital to the smooth running of the business itself.

To help business executives and key people maintain balance and focus on their personal development from a holistic perspective, we are preparing to introduce, after 8 months of development the Impact Executive Development Plan.

Eventually this plan will be available as an online offering but for now if you think creating a balance throughout your life is important or focusing on your personal goals (development, health, fitness, family, skills etc) would help then give me a call at the office and we can help get you started.

Don’t put your businesses most valuable asset at risk – get focused on you, now.

Business Reviews

As usual we are offering our Business Review (a two to three hour review session with one of our consultants entirely at our expense) to the first  three businesses who reply to this edition. Give us a call at the offices on 0845 257 4975 now to reserve yours.

Thanks for reading, I hope you found this month's offerings useful and please consider the questions in this month's feature carefully. I urge you towards unprecedented success!
